Despite my mother’s repeated admonishments, I just couldn’t bring myself to invest in window coverings. I love bright, cheery rooms, and investing in expensive shades was simply low on my precedence list. Besides, the windows on my home are the originals from when it was built in 1910, and each shade would have to be custom built to even fit right. After
