Most of what I have been seeing has been McMansions. Now I am all for reducing our impact on the environment but these are just foolish. There are plenty of travel trailers that are available that are bigger and less expensive too.
They are limited to simple or couple lifestyles, they just aren’t big suitable to have kids in. The urgent thing I have noticed lost in most family designs is to have a space for the kids that they can leave messy and a separate space for the adults that they can find quiet in.
Huge things that have everything and multiple kitchen sinks.

I would love to see some good small designs for families. I’ve seen larger RVs that cost less, are bigger and can move themselves. These could be okay for vacation homes and they would be great as in-law apartments in

Many of the garages in homes built today are larger soon after these homes. That is not necessarily a good or poor thing but the reality is that: humans like their stuff and what it close to them. Having decent closet space for a winter and summer wardrobe is critical in most places outside of Southern California.

My big problem is a lack of good solid designs for families.

These are probably the ultimate expression of small sustainable homes.
For Greenness they are probably wonderful, and can probably be powered just fine with some solar panels on the top or on a detached carport.

The only real problem I see is that they are outrageously priced.
